PM Modi Interacts With 250 J&K Students Under 'Watan Ko Jano' Initiative — WATCH

PM Modi engaged with a delegation of 250 Jammu & Kashmir students, lauding their potential and emphasising national development, tourism opportunities, and recent scientific achievements.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with a delegation of approximately 250 students from Jammu & Kashmir at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. The students, representing all districts of the region, are part of the 'Watan Ko Jano - Youth Exchange Programme 2023' by the Government of India, visiting Jaipur, Ajmer, and New Delhi to foster a sense of national unity.

In the informal interaction, the Prime Minister inquired about the students' travel experiences and the iconic places they visited. Emphasising the rich sporting culture in Jammu and Kashmir, Modi discussed their participation in sports, including cricket and football, as per a statement by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). He commended Sheetal Devi, a young archer from the region, for winning three medals at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou.

"The youth of Jammu and Kashmir has the potential to excel in any field," PM Modi said, as per the release.

Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence in the youth's potential to excel in diverse fields, urging them to contribute to the country's development and work towards realising the vision of 'Viksit Bharat @2047.' "Contribute towards the development of the country and help realise the dream of Viksit Bharat @2047," he told the students.

Regarding the ongoing construction of the world's highest railway bridge in Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister highlighted its significance in improving regional connectivity and said, "Construction of world's highest railway bridge in Jammu and Kashmir will improve connectivity in the region".

Modi touched upon India's recent scientific achievements, including the success of Chandrayaan-3 and the Aditya-L1 mission, expressing pride in these accomplishments.

Addressing the record number of tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir this year, PM Modi identified vast opportunities in the tourism sector in the region. He encouraged the students to embrace yoga for its health benefits and touched upon the successful organisation of the G20 summit in Kashmir, emphasising efforts towards a clean and Swachh Bharat.
