'PM Modi Will Not Spare Anyone': Monks Of Tawang Monastery Warn China After Tawang Face-off
Tawang Monastery monks criticised China for eying territories of other countries and insisted they have full trust in the present Indian government and the Indian Army
Following the skirmish between the Indian and Chinese soldiers along the line of actual control in the Tawang sector, the monks of Tawang Monastery criticised China for eying territories of other countries and warned against such actions if they want peace.
Khawo said they have full trust in the present Indian government and the Indian Army, who will keep Tawang secure. “We have full trust in the Indian govt & the Indian Army, who will keep Tawang secure. During the 1962 war, the monks of this monastery helped Indian Army. Chinese govt claims that Tawang is also part of Tibet, but Tawang is an integral part of India,” said LY Khawo, a Monk of Tawang Monastery

Khawo, who proclaimed support for India, said PM Modi will not spare anyone. “We support the Indian army. Chinese govt always goes after other countries' territories and it's totally wrong. They also eye Indian land. If they want peace in the world, then they shouldn't do this," said Khawo according to the news agency ANI.

The statement comes amid the latest clash between troops from both the sides near the Tawang sector on December 9. The face-off saw personnel from both sides suffering minor injuries, ANI reported. The development comes as India and China are engaged in talks to resolve another standoff in eastern Ladakh.
The Indian troops resolutely confronted the Chinese PLA soldiers. Injuries on the Chinese side were reportedly "much higher than on the Indian side", according to PTI sources.
After the skirmish, commanders from both sides held a flag meeting to discuss the issue in accordance with structured mechanisms to restore peace and tranquillity.
In certain areas along the LAC in the Tawang sector in Arunachal Pradesh, the boundary is undefined. This is not the first time the area in Arunachal Pradesh has seen a face-off between the Indian and Chinese troops. This has been the trend since 2006.
In October 2021, Indian and Chinese troops were engaged in a face-off in Tawang after scores of Chinese soldiers crossed over to the Indian side.
This is the first inciddent after the June 15, 2020, clashes in which 20 Indian soldiers and several PLA men were killed in Ladakh's Galwan Valley.
