PM Modi visits Kumbh, offers prayers, washes feet of sanitation workers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited the ongoing Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj.
PRAYAGRAJ: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited the ongoing Kumbh Mela here in Uttar Pradesh. Modi arrived in Prayagraj in a special Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper and was receievd by chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The prime minister took holy dip at the Triveni Sangam and offered prayers.
He later interacted with sanitation workers at the Kumbh and washed their feet.
Dressed in an orange kurta and wrapped in a saffron shawl, the Prime Minister participated in the 'Triveni Puja' conducted by a group of priests. He offered milk, fruits, a red sari and chandan to the holy rivers. Amid the chanting of hymns, Modi also did a brief 'Sankalp' for which he later offered some 'dakshina' to the priests.
