BJP Workers To Give Rousing Welcome To PM Modi At Party Headquarters After Successful G20 Summit

Ahead of the CEC meeting, PM Modi will be accorded a warm welcome at the BJP headquarters by party workers in Delhi on Wednesday evening after the successful conclusion of the G20 Summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be accorded a warm welcome at the BJP headquarters by party workers in Delhi on Wednesday evening after the successful conclusion of the G20 Summit, which saw India managing a diplomatic win by securing "100% consensus" on key issues, including the Ukraine war. Thousands of workers will reach the headquarters by 5 PM and PM Modi is expected to arrive by 7 PM.

The event, for which the national capital was decked up over days, was held at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam at the Pragati Maidan on September 9 and 10. India took over the G20 presidency on December 1 last year at the summit in Bali and will continue to hold the mantle till the end of November.

The New Delhi Declaration was adopted by G20 leaders on Saturday, the opening day of the summit. The biggest takeaway of the declaration was that all 83 paragraphs of the declaration were passed unanimously with a 100 per cent consensus of all member states, including China and Russia.

PM Modi To Attend BJP CEC Meeting In Delhi

The Prime Minister is set to take part in the Central Election Committee meeting on Wednesday to hold discussions for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan assembly elections.

Key leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah, along with other members of the election committee will take part in the meeting.

Discussions about the candidates for the Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan state assembly elections are likely to take place in the meeting, news agency ANI reported citing sources.

Last month, the BJP had released its first list of candidates for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections revealing the names of 39 candidates.  Ahead of the Rajasthan elections, BJP National President JP Nadda, State President CP Joshi, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, and opposition leader Rajendra Rathore have already held several rounds of meetings ahead of the Central Election Committee meeting on September 13.

Notably, five states -- Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram --are expected to go to the polls later this year, the last round of assembly contest before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Notably, the BJP is in power in Madhya Pradesh and has been running intense campaigns to oust the Congress government in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, and the BRS in Telangana. The saffron party has been running organisational events in both Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh to boost its support, especially among the communities where its vote share had gone down.
