India, Singapore Ink MoUs On Semiconductor, Digital Technology During Modi-Wong Bilateral Meet. Check List

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Singapore, Lawrence Wong held bilateral talks on Thursday where both the sides inked MoUs in various sectors.

India and Singapore exchanged the Memorandums of Understanding on Thursday in various sectors during a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Singapore, Lawrence Wong during the former's visit to the Southeast Asian nation.

The two sides exchanged MoUs in the area of semiconductor, digital technologies, health and medicine, and educational cooperation and skills development. 

"Singapore is not just a partner nation but an inspiration for every developing nation," Modi said in his opening remarks at the meeting. "In India, we want to create many Singapores and I am happy that we are working together in that direction," he said. 

He also called the ministerial roundtable formed between the two countries as a "path-breaking mechanism." 

"Cooperation in the fields of skilling, digitalisation, mobility, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, AI, healthcare, sustainability and cybersecurity has become an identity of this initiative," Modi noted. 

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval Secretary East, Ministry of External Affairs, Jaideep Mazumdar, and MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal were among the officials present in the meeting. 

Following the bilateral meeting, Modi and Wong visited the semiconductor facility of AEM Holdings Ltd in Singapore. 

Earlier in the day, Modi received a ceremonial welcome at Singapore's Parliament House on Thursday.
