PM Modi Says India 'Would Be Happy To Host' Next AI Action Summit, Calls For Global Partnership For AI
In his concluding remarks at the AI summit, PM Modi said that the discussions have clearly brought out that there is “unity in vision and unity in purpose across stakeholders.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that India will host the next AI Action summit after co-hosting with France on Tuesday.
In his concluding remarks at the summit which he co-chaired with French President Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi said that the discussions have clearly brought out that there is “unity in vision and unity in purpose across stakeholders.”
The prime minister said that partnership for AI is truly global in nature and added that India would be happy to host the next Summit to build on the momentum of the summit.
The Prime Minister also welcomed the decision to set up the 'AI Foundation' and the 'Council for Sustainable AI' at the summit.

"I welcome the decision to set up the "AI Foundation” and the "Council for Sustainable AI”. I congratulate France and my dear friend President Macron for these initiatives and assure our full support. We must also make the "Global Partnership for AI” truly global in nature. It should be more inclusive of the Global South and its priorities, concerns and needs," a government statement said.

Modi congratulated France and President Macron for these initiatives and assured him of full support.

During the AI Summit in Paris, a group of 20 major corporations and firms vowed to support a plan to invest 150 Billion Euros in European AI over the next five years. The initiative, 'AI Champions’, led by venture capitalist firm General Catalyst, aims to bridge the gap between investors and startups to "unlock Europe’s full potential in AI", Euro News said in a report.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron launched Current AI with an initial $400 million investment from the French government, philanthropists, and industry partners. The foundation will "reshape" the AI landscape by expanding access to datasets and investing in open-source tools to make AI more transparent.
