PM Modi Releases 10th Installment Of PM-KISAN Yojana, Highlights His Govt's Initiatives In 2021
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, more than Rs 20,000 crore has been released to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families
New Delhi: To provide financial benefits to 10 crore families of farmers on the occasion of New Year 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 10th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme via video conferencing.
PM Modi released the financial benefit in a virtual event and as per the official press release by PMO this step is in line with the government's continued commitment and resolve to empower grassroots-level farmers.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar who addressed the event said that under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, more than Rs 20,000 crore has been released to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families.
During the event, the Prime Minister also released an equity grant of more than Rs 14 crores to about 351 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), which will benefit more than 1.24 lakh farmers.
PM Modi further addressed the event after interacting with FPOs. He listed India's achievements and steps taken by the BJP led government in 2021.
These are the key points of PM Modi's speech:
- PM Modi started his speech by informing that a record foreign investment has come to India in 2021 and the growth rate of our economy is more than 8% today. He further said that the old records have also been broken in the GST collection and the country has also set new paradigms in the matter of exports, especially agriculture.
- PM Modi also mentioned that India is moving towards Digital India at a much faster pace as in 2021 about 70 lakh crore rupees transactions in India was done only through UPI. He said that Today there are more than 50 thousand start-ups working in India. Out of these, more than 10 thousand start-ups were formed in the last 6 months.
- Listing how India is contributing to saving the planet and the country's initiatives in the past year, PM Modi said that by leading the world against climate change, India has also set a target of net-zero carbon emissions in front of the world by 2070. India is also working on electric vehicles.
- He also mentioned that initiative taken by the BJP government and said that in 2021, increased the age of marriage of daughters from 18 to 21 years i.e. equal to that of sons.
- The Prime Minister further said, "PM Gatishakti National Master Plan is going to give a new edge to the pace of infrastructure construction in the country. Giving new dimensions to Make in India, the country has implemented ambitious schemes for new sectors like chip manufacturing and semiconductors."
Tomar also said that in the current financial year 2021-22, an amount of more than Rs 65,800 crore has been transferred to the beneficiary farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi PM Kisan Yojana.
He further informed that under the PM-KISAN scheme effective from 1st December 2018, the Central Government has so far sent more than Rs 1.61 lakh crore to more than 11.5 beneficiary farmer families in the accounts of farmer families.
The 9th instalment of PM-KISAN was released in August 2021.
With the released latest tranche, the total amount provided under the scheme has touched about Rs 1.8 lakh crore. PM-KISAN scheme was announced in February 2019 Budget. The first instalment was for the period December 2018 to March 2019.
