India Will Not Be Suppressed, Says PM Modi Days After India-China Border Clash
Just Days after the December 9 India-China border clash, PM Narendra Modi has said that India cannot be suppressed under any circumstances.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that no one can destroy or suppress India. His statement comes amid the rising tension along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang.
Soldiers of both the countries clashed on December 9 in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh on December 9. Both sides suffered minor injuries in the skirmish. PM Modi said, "India is that immortal seed which overcomes all adverse circumstances. India is the most refined idea of human civilization and the most natural voice of humanity."
PM Modi was speaking at an event for the release of a commemorative coin and postage stamp on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo.
While China's military on Tuesday said that Indian troops 'illegally' crossed the "disputed" border on December 9, its foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin asserted that the situation along the border with India was "generally stable". “As far as we know, the current border situation between China and India is generally stable. As for the specific questions you mentioned, I suggest you refer to the competent authorities," Wang responded to a question on the clash.
Speaking on Rishi Aurobindo, PM Modi said, “The life and birth of Sri Aurobindo is a reflection of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. Although he was born in Bengal, he spent most of his life in Gujarat and Puducherry. Wherever he went, he left a deep impression of his personality. This is a great inspiration for the immortality of freedom."
