Prime Minister Narendra Modi late on Sunday embarked on a roadshow in Ahmedabad ahead of the swearing in of Bhupendra Patel as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
People thronged the streets of Ahmedabad to greet PM Modi as he waved at them during the roadshow in Ahmedabad. The last time he held a roadshow was before the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections on December 1.

At least 20 chief ministers from BJP-ruled states are expected to attend Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's inauguration event in the state capital on Monday, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, is also slated to attend the event.

Governor Acharya Devvrat will administer Patel's oath as Gujarat's 18th chief minister at a ceremony at the Helipad Ground in Gandhinagar's new secretariat building.
Bhupendra Patel resigned as Chief Minister on Friday, paving the door for a new administration to be led by him once again. According to party insiders, the next Gujarat administration would include some fresh faces.
By winning 156 seats in Gujarat, the BJP has become the only party other than the Communist Party of India (Marxist) to have won seven straight Assembly elections in India. The CPI(M), which had ruled West Bengal for 34 years from 1977 to 2011, had also won seven straight elections.
