PM Modi Conferred With Mauritius’ Highest Civilian Honour, Check Full List Of All International Awards In 11 Years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with Mauritius' highest honour, 'The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean,' award during his two-day visit on Tuesday.

PM Modi is the first Indian to receive this prestigious award, for his contributions in strengthening ties between India and Mauritius. This marks the 21st international award conferred upon PM Modi by a foreign nation, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

PM Modi has received several international awards since 2014 and these are the top honours over the past 11 years.

Here Are The List Of Awards:

Order of St. Andrew (Russia, 2024): In July 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin conferred Russia’s highest civilian honor, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, upon PM Modi for his significant contributions to strengthening India-Russia relations.  

Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados (2024): In 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with the 'Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados'. Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the recognition of his contributions towards strengthening international relations.  

Order of Excellence (Guyana, 2024): The 'Order of Excellence' was conferred upon PM Modi by Guyana's President, Irfaan Ali, in 2024. This award recognised his leadership during the pandemic and his efforts in fostering ties between India and the Caribbean nations.  

Dominica Award of Honour (Dominica, 2024): In 2024, Dominica acknowledged PM Modi’s exceptional contributions by bestowing upon him the 'Dominica Award of Honour'.  

Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (Nigeria, 2024): PM Modi was awarded Nigeria’s second-highest distinction, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, in 2024. This recognition highlighted his role in enhancing diplomatic relations between India and Nigeria.  

Order of the Druk Gyalpo (Bhutan, 2024): In March 2024, PM Modi became the first foreign head of government to receive Bhutan’s highest civilian honor, the Order of the Druk Gyalpo, in recognition of his contributions to India-Bhutan relations.  

Grand Cross of the Order of Honour (Greece, 2023): Greece awarded PM Modi the 'Grand Cross of the Order of Honour' in 2023 for his diplomatic achievements. President Katerina N. Sakellaropoulou presented this distinction.  

Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour (France, 2023): On July 13, 2023, PM Modi became the first Indian Prime Minister to receive France’s highest civilian and military honor, the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, from President Emmanuel Macron.  

Order of the Nile (Egypt, 2023): Egypt honored PM Modi in 2023 with the 'Order of the Nile', the country’s highest civilian award, recognizing his role in promoting peace and international cooperation.  

Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu (Papua New Guinea, 2023): In May 2023, Papua New Guinea’s Governor-General Bob Dadae conferred upon PM Modi the 'Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu', appreciating his contributions to strengthening India’s engagement with the Pacific region.  

Legion of Merit (United States, 2020): PM Modi received the 'Legion of Merit', one of the highest military honors of the United States, from President Donald Trump in 2020 for enhancing India-US strategic ties.  

King Hamad Order of the Renaissance (Bahrain, 2019): Bahrain awarded PM Modi the 'King Hamad Order of the Renaissance' in 2019 for his pivotal role in strengthening India-Bahrain relations.  

Order of Zayed (United Arab Emirates, 2019): The 'Order of Zayed', UAE’s highest civilian award, was conferred upon PM Modi in 2019 in recognition of his efforts in fostering closer bilateral relations.  

Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen (Maldives, 2019): During his visit to Maldives in 2019, PM Modi received the 'Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen', the nation’s highest honor, from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.  

Grand Collar of the State of Palestine (Palestine, 2018): In 2018, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas awarded PM Modi the 'Grand Collar of the State of Palestine', recognising his contributions to enhancing India-Palestine ties.  

Amir Amanullah Khan Award (Afghanistan, 2016): Afghanistan conferred its highest civilian honor, the 'Amir Amanullah Khan Award', upon PM Modi in 2016 for his role in strengthening India-Afghanistan relations.  

King Abdulaziz Sash (Saudi Arabia, 2016): In 2016, PM Modi was presented Saudi Arabia’s highest civilian honor, the King Abdulaziz Sash, by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, acknowledging his efforts in enhancing India-Saudi relations.
