After Being Apprised About 2020 Polls Prep; PM Modi Asks BJP Leaders To Learn From Defeat

New Delhi: After a two-day stock-taking, a meeting was held between Bharatiya Janta Party's general secretaries and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. During the meeting, he advised the party members to learn from the defeat the party faced during the Assembly elections this year.
The meeting was reported to be nearly five hours long and the Prime Minister of the country gave various suggestions to the political party.

Suggestions from PM Modi
According to an Indian Express report, the prime minister suggested, the BJP should assess its performance in detail so that it can prepare for future polls be it defeat or victory. After facing defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections, PM Modi suggested that the party should learn from the way TMC snapped back from the 2019 Lok Sabha election defeat when BJP had won 18 of 42 seats in the state.
To communicate more efficiently, the PM suggested social media pages in every regional language.
BJP lost during the Assembly elections in Kerala and won only four seats in Tamil Nadu. The PM suggested that the party should work towards forming an alliance with non-Hindu communities in Kerala, Christian community, as it “does not seem to be having any major issues in joining hands with BJP” sources told the Indian Express.
Assembly elections are scheduled in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur during February - March next year. Gujarat Assembly polls are also slated for 2022 end.
During the review meeting, Modi was apprised of the outcome of the discussion held on the upcoming Assembly polls preparations and the ongoing organizational works including 'Sewa Hi Sangathan 2.0'. The works done by the state units under the 'Sewa Hi Sangathan 2.0' campaign, which was launched to provide help and relief to the people during the second wave of the Covid pandemic, were also reviewed.
BJP national General Secretaries BL Santhosh, Shiv Prakash, Arun Singh, CT Ravi, D Purandeshwari, Dilip Saikia, Tarun Chugh, Dushyant Gautam, Kailash Vijayvargiya and Bhupendra Yadav were present at the meeting.
BJP top leadership reviews party programmes
On Saturday, BJP leaders held a day-long discussion on the party’s future plans. Bhupendra Yadav, BJP general secretary, told the media. “It was decided that the party will train 1 lakh health volunteers, including giving them technical knowledge to operate ventilators and other essential medical devices.”
According to Indian Express, leaders of the different morchas have been asked to focus on promoting the government’s initiatives for their respective sections.
This was the first formal meeting of the BJP top leadership after the Assembly polls in five states/UT, in which the BJP formed government for a second consecutive term in Assam and improved its tally from three to 77 seats in West Bengal.
