PM Modi accuses Congress of stalling CBI, Modicare in Chhattisgarh; asks what are they scared of?

Taking a jibe at Opposition’s proposed mahagathbandhan, PM Modi said, “Corrupt parties and leaders are rallying to defeat the BJP government. But you will have to defeat these forces as these will corrupt the health of the democracy of the country,” said PM Modi in Raigarh.

Raigarh: Stepping up the ante ahead of the 2019 General polls, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress govt in Chattisgarh while addressing a rally in Raigarh district on Friday. PM Modi accused the Congress of misleading the poor and marginalized farmers all through the 55 years they were in power. He highlighted the recently announced measures by the BJP govt for the farmers, saying that the Centre streamlined their efforts to try and eradicate poverty as much as possible. All throughout 55 years that the Congress was in power, they only misled you. Falsehood and lies run their blood,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Referring to the BJP’s defeat in 2018 state Assembly election in December last year, the PM said that the BJP undertook a new resolution to fast track Chhattisgarh’s development. From roads to railway tracks and new businesses, BJP will work with new zeal in every sector to put you ahead,” Modi said. PM Modi hit out at the Congress for deliberately stalling the CBI from carrying out probes as they wanted to make the state their ATM. PM was quoted saying - The history of corruption within the Congress has led it to stall institutions like CBI. The Prime Minister blamed the Congress for not providing people with healthcare benefits as proposed by his government under the the Modicare scheme. “After coming to power, Congress excluded Chhattisgarh of Modi care, they said they won’t let CBI enter the state. I want to ask what is their problem. Congress wants to exclude people of state of health benefits,” said PM Narendra Modi. In a bid to lure and connect with the salaried class voters in the state, he said that the Interim budget exempted people with Rs 5 lakh annual income from ambit of income tax to help taxpayers. “The BJP has exempted people with Rs 5 lakh annual income from the ambit of income tax. This will benefit approx Rs 3 crore taxpayers. If a chowkidaar could do so much, it is because you voted for a mazboot (strong) government,” said PM Modi.
