'PM Abrogated Article 370 With Snap Of Finger': Amit Shah Slams Oppn Over ‘Khoon Ki Nadiya Bahengi’ Rant

“Today AFSPA removed from 75% of NE - an answer to those who (asked for) removing AFSPA on the basis of human rights,” said Shah.

New Delhi: Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi abrogated Article 370 with the snap of a finger on August 5, 2019, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday hit out at the Opposition, stating that those who said ‘khoon ki nadiya bahengi’ (rivers of blood will flow) could not even dare to pelt stones. Shah, who was speaking at a seminar on revisiting ideas of India from ‘Swaraj’ to New India’ in the national capital, also commented on removal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), ANI reported.

“Today AFSPA removed from 75% of NE - an answer to those who (asked for) removing AFSPA on the basis of human rights,” said Shah.

“They talk about human rights of those spreading terror, I want to tell them that even those who die due to terrorism have human rights,” he added.

The Home Minister while addressing another event in the national capital spoke about India’s defence policy.

Shah said the country did not have a defence policy before Prime Minister Modi came to power, adding even if it existed, it was a “shadow” of the foreign policy, PTI reported.

“Before Prime Minister Modi, India did not have a defence policy. Even if it existed, it was a shadow of the foreign policy. Earlier, terrorists would be sent to attack us and there were similar attempts to do so with the Uri and Pulwama attacks,” he said addressing the students at an event in the Delhi University, according to the news agency.

“But with the surgical strikes and air strikes, we showed what the defence policy meant,” he added.
