Piyush Goyal himself cut power during his PC in Varanasi, says Dimple Yadav: 10 points
BHADOHI: Samajwadi Party star campaigner and Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav on Monday lashed out at Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal over allegations of patchy power supply in Uttar Pradesh saying the Minister himself planned the power cut during his press conference in Varanasi.
- "You know what is 'Karnama'? When Piyush Goyal himself planned the power cut during his press conference at a hotel while there was electricity in neighbouring houses. This is known as Karnama," Dimple told a gathering in Bhadohi.
- Last week, Goyal was speaking to the media in Varanasi when the lights went off.
- He later tweeted images of his press conference in the dark and said, "I swear on Ganga maiya, today the power cut during the press meet exposed the hollow claims of the Samajwadi Party government".
- Over allegations of unequal power supply in UP laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dimple said Akhilesh Yadav asked the Varanasi MP to swear by "mother Ganga" if there was any disparity but didn't.
- Urging people of Bhadohi to save the state from "evil eye", Dimple said what will happen if any Gujarati Bhai becomes the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
- Dimple also took dig at BJP leader and Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath saying he didn't accept the challenge of Akhilesh Yadav to touch electric wire.
- Attcking BSP chief Mayawati, Dimple said 'Bua Ji' can't be trusted as she is again ready to celebrate 'Rakshabandhan' with BJP after results.
- Akhilesh's MP wife Dimple has of late emerged as a star campaigner of the party after the sulking Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav decided to largely keep away from the fiercely fought electoral battle.
- A highly-charged final phase of campaigning for the Uttar Pradesh polls culminated today with the show of strength by the BJP, the SP-Congress combine and the BSP.
- 40 seats spread over seven eastern districts, including five in Varanasi, will go to polls on March 8, bringing curtains down on the two month-long exercise staggered in seven phases.
