BHADOHI: Samajwadi Party star campaigner and Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav on Monday lashed out at Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal over allegations of patchy power supply in Uttar Pradesh saying the Minister himself planned the power cut during his press conference in Varanasi.

• "You know what is 'Karnama'? When Piyush Goyal himself planned the power cut during his press conference at a hotel while there was electricity in neighbouring houses. This is known as Karnama," Dimple told a gathering in Bhadohi.
• Last week, Goyal was speaking to the media in Varanasi when the lights went off.
• He later tweeted images of his press conference in the dark and said, "I swear on Ganga maiya, today the power cut during the press meet exposed the hollow claims of the Samajwadi Party government".
• Over allegations of unequal power supply in UP laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dimple said Akhilesh Yadav  asked the Varanasi MP to swear by "mother Ganga" if there was any disparity but didn't.
• Urging people of Bhadohi to save the state from "evil eye", Dimple said what will happen if any Gujarati Bhai becomes the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

• 40 seats spread over seven eastern districts, including five in Varanasi, will go to polls on March 8, bringing curtains down on the two month-long exercise staggered in seven phases.
