Rahul Gandhi said, "The Israeli Government considers Pegasus spyware as a weapon to be used against terrorists and criminals. Prime Minister and Home Minister have used this weapon against Indian institutions and democracy, by tapping my phone."
Rahul Gandhi further said, "It is not just a matter of my privacy, but it is an attack on the freedom of speech. Pegasus was used to stop the Supreme Court and Rafale probe. The Home Minister should resign and a judicial inquiry should be carried out on PM Narendra Modi, as they are the only people who can possibly authorise such an attack."

Several of Congress party members in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha protested in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Parliament premises.
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal participated in the protest, along with Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and many other Congress MPs.
