'Param Bir Singh's Letter Has Allegations But No Proof Against Anil Deshmukh', Says NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar

NCP supremo Sharad Pawar said the Chief Minister will decide what actions should be taken on Param Bir Singh's letter.

NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar held a press conference and said that the allegations levelled at Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh are serious and a case has been filed against him.  Sharad Pawar said that accusing Anil Deshmukh of charging Rs 100 crore every month is huge but to understand the situation and the letter there are certain things that need to be pointed out.

Pawar said, "Firstly, the letter has not signed by the former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and it was neither sent from his professional email id. "

Secondly, Mansukh Hiren's car was taken by Vaze and so he is being investigated and why is Param Bir Singh making these allegations after being transferred. If it was the truth he would have written to the CM earlier. Pawar also said that neither the Maharashtra CM nor the state Home Minister appointed Sachin Vaze. "

Pawar also revealed that it was Param Bir Singh who appointed Sachin Vaze and later took the decision to suspend the op cop when NIA arrested him to interrogate about the Antilia case. The NCP Chief clarified that the govt was not involved in any of the decisions.

Sharad Pawar said that the letter has accused Anil Deshmukh of corruption but there are no proofs of the allegations made by him. However, the NP Chief said that the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray should decide what actions should be taken on the letter sent by Param Bir Singh.

"The Maharashtra CM has the full authority to take a decision regarding an inquiry on these allegations against the Home Minister", said Sharad Pawar

"I don't know whether efforts are being made or not to topple the government (Maharashtra). All I can say is they will have no impact on the government," NCP Chief Sharad Pawar

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and NCP state chief and minister Jayant Patil met NCP President Sharad Pawar after he called them for a meeting in the late afternoon to discuss the letter sent by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh making serious corruption allegations on Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

Maharashtra Minister and NCP Leader Jayant Patil said the letter of Param Bir Singh is a reaction after Maharashtra CM and Home Minister decided to take a tough stand. “There is no question of replacing Maharashtra Home Minister.”
