Pakistani Armed Drones Shot Down By India Over Amritsar As Islamabad Executes Op 'Bunyan Marsoos'

Pakistan announced that it was launching counteroffensive against India, codenamed 'Bunyan Marsoos'.

Multiple armed Pakistani drones were shot down by Indian air defence units over Amritsar on Saturday as Islamabad announced counteroffensive against India, codenamed “Bunyan Marsoos”.

"At approximately 5 AM, multiple enemy armed drones were spotted flying over Khasa Cantt, Amritsar. The hostile drones were instantly engaged and destroyed by our air defence units," said the Indian Army in a post on X.

"Pakistan’s blatant attempt to violate India’s sovereignty and endanger civilians is unacceptable. Indian Army will thwart enemy designs," the post added.

According to defence officials, Pakistan launched Byker YIHA III Kamikaze, endangering the residential areas of Punjab. The drone was aimed to target civilian areas and innocent civilians, reported ANI quoting defence officials.

Bunyan Marsoos

On Saturday, right after morning prayers, the Pakistan military launched its counteroffensive against India, codenamed “Bunyan Marsoos”, after a verse in the Quran, reported AlJazeera.

Under the operation, it has targeted a number of sites across India which are all military sites, including one missile station as well as two airfields, the report added.

Bunyan Ul Marsoos or Bunyan-un-Marsoos or Bunyanun Marsoos is an Arabic verse in the Quran which translates to "solid cemented structure." The complete verse of the Quran reads: "Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure."

Qatar-based AlJazeera further reported quoting the Pakistani military that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a meeting of the country's top civilian and military body, which takes key national security decisions, including those related to the country’s nuclear arsenal.
