Padded with arms and ammunition, Hizbul militants play cricket

The Hizbul Mujahideen which is always on the lookout for young recruits had recently shared a picture of its 14 comrades posing together. Police said the identities of many were known to them.

New Delhi: Padded with arms and ammunition on their bodies, five Hizbul Mujahideen militants are seen enjoying the game of cricket. Wearing camouflage uniforms, the militants are seen casually playing cricket in an unknown location. The place appears to be inside a forest and is said to be somewhere in South Kashmir. AK-47s have been erected on the ground in the form of wickets, visuals show. It is not clear whether a sixth militant is shooting the video or the camera has been positioned on a branch of a tree. Three different parts of the video have emerged on the internet of which one has been embedded below. Security agencies have not validated the videos yet. The date and time of these video are unknown as well. This is not for the first time such a video has surfaced. A year ago a similar video like this emerged on social media. That time as well the actual location of the shoot wasn’t clearly established. The Hizbul Mujahideen which is always on the lookout for young recruits had recently shared a picture of its 14 comrades posing together. Police said the identities of many were known to them. The emergence of videos and pictures like these could also be a clear indication that the militant group is using social media to promote its ranking among the youth in the state that has recently been torn apart politically.
