‘Opportunist’ Nitish ‘cheated’ Grand Alliance: Rahul Gandhi

Patna, Bihar: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday broke his silence and lashed out at Nitish Kumar for breaking from Grand Alliance and joining hands with rival BJP. Speaking to media immediately after Nitish’s oath taking ceremony which took place at 10am on Thursday, Rahul said “Nitish cheated Grand Alliance”. He further expressed his disgust against Nitish and said it’s shocking to see how people stoop to any level for their personal gains”. Rahul also added saying he had hints about Nitish’s intention before hand and said, “I had an idea of Nitish’s intention from past 3 months”. He further blamed Indian polity for said on cannot trust anyone in politics. The question rises that if Rahul knew of the intentions of Nitish already, then why he didn’t act before to save the alliance. The trouble is not yet over Nitish Kumar as his party stands divided over alliance formation with BJP. Speaking on the same his party leader Ali Anwar expressed his resentment and said, “Our conscience doesn’t allow us to support BJP”. Meanwhile, RJD supporters could be seen raising slogans in protest against Nitish Kumar outside Lalu’s residence.
