Operation Sindoor: PM Modi Chairs Meeting With NSA, CDS, And Tri-Service Chiefs

PM Modi chaired a high-level security meeting amid Operation Sindoor, emphasizing strong retaliation against cross-border attacks, reflecting India's firm defense posture.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting at his residence on Monday, bringing together key members of his security and defense leadership as Operation Sindoor continues. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. Senior military figures, including Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, were also present.

According to sources, PM Modi has issued firm directives to the armed forces regarding cross-border firing and shelling, emphasizing a strong retaliatory stance. Earlier, on May 11, the Prime Minister reportedly instructed the forces to respond with overwhelming force, saying, "Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola," signaling a decisive approach to ongoing hostilities.

Sources further indicated that Operation Sindoor, which was launched on May 7 in response to a deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, is still far from over. The operation targets multiple terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. They stressed that India would match every Pakistani bullet fired across the Line of Control (LoC) with bombs, reflecting a shift towards a more aggressive defense posture.

"If they fire, we will fire, and if they attack, we will attack," the sources added, highlighting the firm resolve at the highest levels of the Indian government.

The Indian Air Force (IAF), a critical component of the ongoing operations, released a statement on the platform 'X' emphasizing its commitment to precision and professionalism. The IAF confirmed that it had successfully executed its assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor, aligning its actions with national objectives. However, it also cautioned against speculation as operations remain ongoing, stating:

"The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully executed its assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor, with precision and professionalism. Operations were conducted in a deliberate and discreet manner, aligned with National Objectives. Since the Operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information."

As the situation along the LoC remains tense, the meeting underscores India's readiness to respond decisively to cross-border provocations. More updates are expected as the operations progress.
