Only Way To Remove Crime Of 'Didi-Bhatija' Is BJP: Amit Shah's Jibe At CM Mamata In Bengal's Birbhum

Amit Shah's programme in Bengal is part of BJP's 'Pravas' campaign to boost its organisation in 144 Lok Sabha seats in the country that it had lost by slender margins in 2019 general election.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister on Friday reached West Bengal's Birbhum to lay the foundation stone of BJP's office in the TMC stronghold and address a public gathering here. While speaking here, he took a sharp jibe at CM Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee. He said that only way to remove crime of 'Didi-Bhatija' is to bring BJP in power.

"...The only way to remove the crime of 'Didi-Bhatija' is BJP. The only way to free Bengal off terror is BJP. The only way to stop infiltration in Bengal is BJP...Give us 35 seats in 2024, there will be no need for 2025 (West Bengal poll); before 2025 Mamata did's govt will collapse," Shah said.

Notably, ahead of the rural polls that are due next month in the state, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Bengal.

During his visit, the Union Minister will take stock of the organisational strength of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and will lay the foundation stone of the party office in Birbhum.

"Amit Shah Ji will be on a two-day visit to West Bengal from April 14. He is scheduled to hold a public meeting in Birbhum in the afternoon and inaugurate the district party office in Suri. He will come to the city later in the evening, hold a meeting with the state party leaders and take stock of the organisational situation," a state BJP leader said.

According to the report, the Union Minister will visit Dakshineswar Temple on Bengali New Year's Day on Saturday.

Notably, the Union Minister’s programme in Bengal is part of BJP's 'Pravas' campaign to boost its organisation in 144 Lok Sabha seats in the country that it had lost by slender margins in 2019 general election.

According to the party leader, Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda are slated to address 12 rallies each, covering 24 Lok Sabha seats in the state that the saffron party had lost in the election that year. Nadda has already addressed two rallies in West Bengal as part of the Pravas campaign in January and February.

Amit Shah is scheduled to hold a public meeting in Birbhum, which is considered to be a stronghold of the ruling TMC. But political equations in the district have changed in the last few months after CBI arrested Trinamool Congress district president Anubrata Mondal in his alleged connection with a cattle smuggling case.

Meanwhile, responding to the minister’s scheduled visit to the state, TMC leader and state minister Partha Bhowmick said, “As the rural poll in West Bengal is approaching, BJP leaders will come to the state more frequently. But it will not yield any result.”
