'Took 50 MLAs From Under His Nose': Devendra Fadnavis Hits Back At Aaditya Thackeray

The Deputy Chief Minister made the statement while addressing the media after the State Assembly was adjourned sine die on Friday after days of uproarious proceedings.

New Delhi: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, responding to a jibe of former minister Aaditya Thackeray that the government was scared of a 32-year-old, said they are neither scared of him or his father Uddhav Thackeray, news agency ANI reported.

“We aren't afraid of the 32-year-old man (Aaditya Thackeray) and not even his father (Uddhav Thackeray). 50 people were swept from under his (Uddhav) nose and he couldn't do anything. He had said that Mumbai would burn, but not even a matchstick was burnt,” ANI quoted Fadvanis as saying.

The Deputy Chief Minister made the statement while addressing the media after the State Assembly was adjourned sine die on Friday after days of uproarious proceedings.

Earlier in the Assembly, Fadnavis said that an inquiry into the alleged malpractices in Sree Siddhivinayak Temple Trust would be completed within one month.

It is to be noted that the deputy chief minister’s statement comes days after Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MLA Aaditya Thackeray said the Maharashtra government was scared of him, a 32-year-old, and efforts were made to defame him.

Thackeray was referring to the BJP leaders’ demand of a Narco test on the former minister in connection with the Disha Salian death case. During the state Assembly proceeding, Fadnavis announced a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to reopen the Disha Salian case.

Notably, Disha Salian, a celebrity manager, who worked for the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, was found dead on June 8, 2020, a week before Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his room. Both the deaths were called suicides.

Several BJP leaders, including Nitesh Rane, alleged a link between the two deaths and accused Aaditya Thackeray of being connected in Disha Salian's death.
