'Nobody in the country takes Rahul Gandhi seriously': Shivraj Singh Chouhan

New Delhi: "Nobody in the country takes Rahul Gandhi seriously", said Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan on the Congress vice president's allegations on the central government. "Nobody in the country takes Rahul Gandhi seriously, no seriousness in what he says", Shivraj said. He also lauded Modi and said, "PM Modi thinks about the country and whatever is in the interest of the nation". "The entire country has welcomed PM Modi's demonetization decision to curb corruption, fight terrorism", MP CM added. He also praised notes ban and said, "Took time for new currency to come in,situation will be back to normal after some time. We're gradually moving towards cashless society". It may be recalled that on wednesday Rahul Gandhi, the Congress vice president alleged that he has information on the personal corruption of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which he wants to reveal in the Lok Sabha but is barred from doing so by the government. On Wednesday, Rahul was speaking during a joint press meet of the Opposition after Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day. Leaders of other opposition parties were also at the media conference. Here are 5 important things Rahul Gandhi said:
  • I have some personal information on PM Narendra Modi, which is what I want to speak on in Lok Sabha, but I am not being allowed to speak: Congress VP Rahul Gandhi
  • Allow opposition to speak in the house. Prime Minister owes country an explanation, cannot keep running away to pop concerts  and public meetings: Rahul Gandhi
  • Modi is afraid that if he lets me speak then his balloon will burst: Rahul Gandhi
  • We are ready for an unconditional debate but the government is not allowing me to speak. It is our right to speak. Narendra Modi has destroyed millions of lives: Rahul Gandhi
  • Prime Minister Modi owes an explanation to the country over issue of demonetisation: Rahul Gandhi
Meanwhile, Lok Sabha was adjourned till Thursday, after continued uproar over demonetisation. Gandhi had on Friday last said his party wants debate on demonetisation so that the truth can come to the fore, but the government is running away from it. The Congress leader had said that when he gets a chance to speak about demonetisation in the House, "the Prime Minister will not be able to even sit there... Demonetisation is the biggest scam in the history of India... I want to speak in Lok Sabha. I will tell everything there." The Winter Session of Parliament resumed on Wednesday after a four-day hiatus. It has seen little transaction of any substantial business due to ruckus over demonetisation and other issues.
