'No Such Altercation Onboard': IndiGo Airlines Issue Clarification On Mid-Air Drunken Brawl

After the media claimed that airport police had detained two passengers for allegedly causing havoc in an intoxicated condition on Sunday night, the airlines released a correction.

IndiGo Airlines rejected reports of two inebriated passengers wreaking mayhem on a Patna-bound aircraft from the national capital on Monday, claiming that no such event occurred, news agency ANI reported.

Taking to Twitter, Indigo Airlines stated: "With reference to the incident that took place onboard 6E 6383 from Delhi to Patna, the matter is under investigation with the authorities. We would like to clarify that there was no altercation onboard the aircraft, as what is being reported in some sections of social media."

After the media claimed that airport police had detained two passengers for allegedly causing havoc in an intoxicated condition on Sunday night, the airlines released a correction.

According to SHO Patna Airport Robert Peter, the police took action when IndiGo's manager submitted a formal complaint against the accused.

He further stated that the accused will be brought before the court.

The reported incident occurred on IndiGo aircraft 6E-6383.

According to reports, Indigo warned air traffic controllers (ATC) before landing that two passengers were carrying booze.

The passengers were stopped by crew members for drinking alcohol, and they apologised in writing for the event, according to sources, ANI reported.

Last month, an intoxicated customer reportedly urinated on the blanket of a female passenger on the airline's Paris-New Delhi trip.

The DGCA has requested a report on an incident from Air India.
