No Relief From Heatwave in Haryana, Punjab. Light Rainfall Expected On April 13

According to a Meteorological Centre data, the peak temperature in Haryana was 45.3 degrees Celsius in Faridabad's Bopani.

New Delhi: On Monday, heatwave conditions prevailed in Haryana and Punjab, with temperatures rising above 40 degrees in most regions of the two states, news agency PTI reported.

The scorching heat also reached Gurugram and Hisar, with a high temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Narnaul was 43.5 degrees Celsius, while in Bhiwani it was 42.5 degrees Celsius.

The highest temperature recorded in Rohtak was 43.2 degrees Celsius, Ambala 41.2 degrees Celsius, and Sirsa 43.7 degrees Celsius.

Bathinda, Punjab, had a high temperature of 43.4 degrees Celsius.

Amritsar had a high of 41.2 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana had a high of 41.5 degrees Celsius, Patiala had a high of 42.6 degrees Celsius, and Jalandhar had a high of 41.7 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, reached 40.7 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, people may be able to escape the oppressive heat.

According to the meteorological service, a western disturbance may bring isolated rain to areas of Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday.

Dust-raising winds of 20-30 kmph are expected over southern Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the MeT centre.
