'Nitish Kumar Supporting Corruption To Retain Power': BJP MP Sushil Modi's Swipe At Bihar CM Over ED Raids
The ED conducted raids at the residence of Bihar Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and several relatives of former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav at multiple locations.
New Delhi: Launching an attack on Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and JD(U) national president Lalan Singh over the alleged land-for-job scam case, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sushil Modi on Saturday said it is unfortunate that the leaders have taken the side of corruption in order to retain political power.
In an interview with ABP News, Sushil Modi said he wants to know when was the FIR, in relation to the alleged land-for-job scam case, first registered. He was referring to Lalan Singh’s remarks who said the leaders are paying the price of the formation of a coalition government in Bihar. He further said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had probed the case earlier twice but failed to gather any evidence.

According to Lalan Singh, the case was first handed over to CBI in 2008 but it closed the case when they failed to get any evidence in preliminary investigation.
Referring to Singh’s remarks, Sushil Modi said there was no coalition government in Bihar in 2008 and demanded to know when was the first FIR registered in the case.
Further taking a dig at CM Nitish Kumar for supporting Lalu Prasad Yadav, Sushil Modi, as quoted by news agency ANI said, “Nitish Kumar changes easily. Today he feels that by backing Lalu Yadav and Congress he can get the position of Prime Minister. That is just what he feels. But, nobody can save Lalu Yadav and his family, CBI has strong evidence against them.”
Notably, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at the residence of Bihar Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and several relatives of former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav at multiple locations across Delhi, the National Capital Region (NCR) and Bihar in the alleged scam. The raids were conducted at the residence of Lalu Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti among others in Delhi as well as RJD's leader and former MLA Abu Dojana in Bihar.
Reacting to the raids, Nitish Kumar said, “This happened in 2017. Then we (JDU-RJD) went our separate ways...five years went by and when we came together, raids occurred again. What can I say?”
