NCW flays Salman for rape remark, asks for apology

New Delhi:  Criticising Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for his remark that he felt like a "raped woman" after shooting a wrestling scene in his upcoming film 'Sultan', the National Commission for Women on Tuesday asked him to apologise within seven days. "Just because he is Salman Khan does not mean he will make such a statement. This is sad," National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam told the media here. She said Salman may be issued a summons if he failed to comply. "It is like the most difficult thing... when I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be actually like a raped woman walking out... it feels like the most difficult... I couldn’t take steps," Khan is heard saying in an audio clipping during interaction with a group of journalists. His remarks drew widespread criticism as well as show of support on the social media.
