New Delhi: Take a jibe at Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Central government, Congress leader and Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu asked that is the PM jealous for not being called for oath taking ceremony of Imran Khan. The Senior Congress leader also said that he will not prove his patriotism to anyone. Speaking to reporters Sidhu said, “Is the PM jealous that he was not called (for Imran Khan’s oath ceremony)? Is he jealous that he went to Pakistan uninvited (for Nawaz Sharif’s birthday)? I’ll not prove my patriotism to people whose name came up in Godhra case.” Currently, Sidhu is in Chhattisgarh campaigning for his party for the forthcoming Assembly elections. Earlier during his rally, former cricketer also announced the chief ministerial candidate for Congress in the state. Sidhu revealed that close aide of Congress President Rahul Gandhi and former Union Minister Charandas Mahant will become the CM should his party come to power. However, the revelation by Sidhu comes as a surprise as his party has not yet officially revealed their face for CM ahead of the polls. The cricketer-turned-politician was addressing a rally in Chattisgarh’s Jangir Champa District’s Sakti Assembly. It is the constituency from where senior Congress leader Charandas Mahan is contesting the election. Speaking at the rally in Jangir Champa district of in the state, the former cricketer-turned-politician said, “When you win here, I will come here to congratulate you. And it is possible that the MLA of this area may very well be the CM of the state. It is very possible.” Congress ace campaigner will reportedly attend 20 rallies in a week in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan to strengthen Congress’ foothold in the states. “I will start campaigning in Chhattisgarh tomorrow,” Sidhu had said on Thursday. Before visiting Madhya Pradesh, the Congress leader paid obeisance at the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu. As per reports, Sidhu has been asked to campaign for six days each in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
