Baghel Fires Salvo At BJP Over Video Linked To Narendra Tomar’s Son, Asks When ‘Will Raids Take Place’

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel shared a video linked to Narendra Singh Tomar's son and asked when will he be probed in connection with the matter.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Centre over the viral video of Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar’s son where he is purportedly heard discussing some financial dealings, asking when a probe will be launched against him.

The Congress has intensified its attack against the BJP leader after a video emerged where a man who identified himself as a resident of Canada claimed that it was him who was discussing financial transactions with Tomar’s son, Devendra Tomar in an earlier video.

Taking a dig at BJP, Baghel who was recently caught in the Mahadev betting app row, said: “Rs 10,000 crore game? Your (apparently referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi) agency levelled allegations of hundreds of crores of rupees (scam) against me based on an unconfirmed video and statement of a driver.”

“Now check this also. Which agency will investigate? When will raids take place? When will there be hour-long programmes in the media,” Baghel asked.

“The person who was talking to the minister's son on video call has confirmed the entire conversation by releasing a new video. Narendra Singh Tomar's son has also purchased 100 acres of land abroad for ganja (cannabis) cultivation,” he wrote on X.

A video that surfaced on social media is going viral that purportedly shows Devendra Tomar talking to a “middleman” about several crore rupees. The video has been dismissed as fake by Tomar’s son.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also came down heavily on the BJP-led Centre over the videos as he questioned the credibility of the Enforcement Directorate.

“The entire country can see his video but there is no action from ED, he was not even questioned and you (agencies) are entering the houses of other people's sons and harassing them. ED's credibility is going down," Gehlot said.
