Narendra Modi to address rallies in Assam while observing Navratri fasts
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will observe strict religious fasts during Navratri starting from Friday. During nine days of Chaitra Navratri, Prime Minister will abstain from having food and will only intake water.
While observing fasts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday will address several election rallies, where polling will be held on Monday in the second and final phase of Assembly elections.
He will be addressing people in Raha, Rangia, Sarbhog and Guwahati.
Millions in the country fast during the Navratris and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been fasting during the Navratri since many years. PM will also visit Kamakhya Temple, one of the oldest shakti peeths, to invoke Goddess Kamakhya's blessings. Kamakhya Temple is situated at the top of Ninanchal Hill (800 feet above sea level) in the Western part of Guwahati, the capital city of Assam.. "After many years, on first day of Navratri, getting an opportunity to visit Kamakhya Temple & offer prayers to Maa Kamakhya.
