'Just Outside Bengaluru': Nara Lokesh Steps In As K'taka Drops Aerospace Plan; Tejasvi Deletes Post After Praise

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh invited aerospace firms to invest in Andhra Pradesh after Karnataka scrapped its aerospace park project.

Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh has taken a sharp dig at Karnataka’s recent withdrawal from its planned aerospace park near Bengaluru, using the moment to pitch Andhra as a more viable destination for aerospace investment.

Following Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s announcement to cancel the acquisition of 1,777 acres of farmland in Devanahalli—citing mounting pressure from farmers and public figures—Lokesh extended an open invitation to aerospace firms via a post on X.

'Why Don't You Look At Andhra Instead?': Nara Lokesh

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh said, "Dear Aerospace industry, sorry to hear about this. I have a better idea for you. Why don’t you look at Andhra Pradesh instead? We have an attractive aerospace policy for you, with best-in-class incentives and over 8000 acres of ready-to-use land (just outside  Bengaluru)! Hope to see you soon to talk across the table."

The post was widely seen as both a promotional pitch and a strategic taunt aimed at Karnataka’s policy reversal. The now-shelved project had faced growing resistance from local communities and critics like actor-activist Prakash Raj, who argued it would displace farmers in the area.

Reacting to the tweet, State Minister G Parameshwara told ANI, "If we are not able to give land in Devanahalli, we will give it at some other place. We will definitely not let the other investors go to other states, such as Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. We will definitely convince them to invest in Karnataka."

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya Lauds Nara Lokesh, Deletes Post Later

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya briefly joined the online conversation, sharing Lokesh’s message with approval: "This is how business is attracted, industry is welcomed and jobs are created. Hope Karnataka Govt learns from @naralokesh garu and correct its course...."

However, the post was soon deleted without explanation, suggesting political sensitivity over the issue.
