New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a meeting with senior ministers in the Parliament and discussed the government’s strategy in both the Houses over the Nagaland firing incident.

Several Opposition MPs in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha moved notices in respective Houses earlier today to discuss the Nagaland civilian killings incident where at least 13 civilians were shot dead.

In Lok Sabha, Congress MPs Manish Tewari and Manickam Tagore moved adjournment motion notices to discuss the matter while MP Manoj Jha gave suspension of business notice in Rajya Sabha “to discuss the matters related to the killing of innocent civilians in Nagaland".
As per the report, a delegation of five members of the Trinamool Congress including Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev would visit Nagaland on Monday where they will meet the kin of the victims who lost their lives
On Saturday, several Naga youths were shot down by the security forces, suspected to be terrorists, in Oting village of Mon district in Nagaland. Following the incident, irked villagers set fire to vehicles belonging to the security forces, and some people were shot while the forces opened fire to control the mob.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphieu Rio condemned the killings and ordered a high-level probe into the incident on Sunday. In a tweet, the CM wrote, “The unfortunate incident leading to the killing of civilians at Oting, Mon is highly condemnable. Condolences to the bereaved families & speedy recovery of those injured. High-level SIT will investigate & justice delivered as per the law of the land. Appeal for peace from all sections."
Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his anguish over the incident. Nagaland Governor Jagdish Mukhi also condemned the killings.
