In April, the Mumbai Traffic police launched a special drive on complaints from residents and commuters that the delivery boys had been haphazardly riding on the streets of Mumbai and creating a ruckus.
Started on April 5, the drive in its first 20 days witnessed 1,983 delivery executives working for a host of food and grocery delivery platforms being fined for riding without helmets, according to the Hindustan Times report.
The drive was launched after the Mumbai police commissioner Sanjay Pandey warned the representatives of such delivery companies and instructed them to ensure that their delivery agents follow traffic rules.
