Mumbai: 53-year-old Air India air hostess falls off plane while shutting its door
"In an unfortunate incident, one of our cabin crew (members), Harsha Lobo, fell down on the tarmac from the Boeing-777 aircraft door while closing it," the airline said in a statement.

Mumbai: Air India is in the news for the second time in a row. Last week its flight to Dubai had a miraculous escape when their aircraft's wheels hit a perimeter wall during takeoff in Tiruchirappalli. This time around, one of its senor air-hostesses suffered serious injuries as she fell from the aircraft while shutting its door on Monday. The unfortunate incident took place at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport when Air India's New Delhi-bound flight AI 864 was getting ready for departure. The 53-year-old airhostess reportedly suffered injuries on her legs and was admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Vile Parel for treatment. The airline termed the incident as "unfortunate" and said that it was investigating into it. "In an unfortunate incident, one of our cabin crew (members), Harsha Lobo, fell down on the tarmac from the Boeing-777 aircraft door while closing it," the airline said in a statement. Dubai flight diverted to Mumbai The Dubai-bound flight which had hit a wall last Friday had 136 people on board was diverted to Mumbai. The passengers flew to Dubai by another aircraft. The Air India Express plane was flying at a speed of 250 km was possibly overloaded, a PTI report said. Mumbai engineer sucked into aircraft engine An Air India engineer had got sucked into the aircraft's engine at the same airport about three years ago when the pilots switched on the engines prematurely after mistaking a signal.
