MP: Home Minister Amit Shah To Unveil State Government’s Hindi-Medium Medical Education Project Today
The senior BJP leader will also lay the foundation stone of a new airport terminal in Gwalior during his visit to Madhya Pradesh.
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will today launch Madhya Pradesh government’s project to impart medical education in Hindi medium during a day-long visit to the state. He will unveil Hindi medical textbooks at a programme at Bhopal’s Lal Parade Ground at around 12 noon.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will preside over the programme, reported news agency PTI.
Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to start the MBBS course in Hindi language, stated a report by news agency ANI adding that initially, three subjects have been selected to be studied in Hindi which includes anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry.
A team of 97 experts have been working on the preparation of books for the last 232 days at Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. They have been translating the book from English to Hindi. State medical education minister Vishwas Sarang is continuously reviewing the work.

Speaking to ANI, Sarang said, "We are trying our best to promote Hindi, under which we translate courses in Hindi. We have introduced three subjects in the first phase. The translation of second-year courses is going on. The Hindi books will be available in the college which will be beneficial to the students."
"Various countries like Germany, Russia, China, France and other colleges teach in their regional languages. Therefore, we have also started and it is the first experiment in the last 75 years," he said.
The senior BJP leader will also lay the foundation stone of a new airport terminal in Gwalior during his visit to Madhya Pradesh.

Around 3.15 pm, Amit Shah is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the new terminal building and expansion at Gwalior's Vijayaraje Scindia Airport. He will later participate in a programme at Mela Ground. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will also be present during the event.
The Union Minister will also inaugurate a gallery on Maratha history at the Scindias' Jai Vilas Palace before leaving for Delhi around 7.15 pm.
