Arogya Setu App To Tackle Coronavirus Pandemic Aarogya Setu app, which became popular as the Covid-19 situation turned grim leaving nearly 2,450 people dead, has registered more than 10-crore users. The app has turned out to be the most downloaded free app on both Android and iOS. The app was the government’s initiative to monitor the movement of Covid-19 affected people and tracking the possible hotspots across the country. E-GramSwaraj Web Portal/ Moble App To Digitize Gram Panchayat Level PM Narendra Modi launched the e-GramSwaraj portal and mobile app which helps prepare and execute Gram Panchayat Development Plans. The portal will ensure real time monitoring and accountability. The portal is a major step towards digitization down to the Gram Panchayat level. The application has a detailed breakdown of state-wise accounts. It also has a Public Financial Management System (PFMS) state-wise integration chart. According to this, Karnataka, Odisha, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh are integrated fully. Haryana, Punjab, and Chhattisgarh are in the 90 percent bracket while nine states, including Gujarat and Kerala, are yet to get started. PM Modi, One Of The Most Active World Leaders On Social Media PM Modi stays active in popular social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. He has used social media to engage with people and seek inputs from them. He even used it to solve few issues in a different way such as asking people to share selfies with their daughters or by requesting people to share their glimpses of Incredible India. PM Modi 53.3 million followers on Twitter, 44 million on Facebook and 35.2 million on Instagram. With this, he has become the world's most followed leader. He even uses SMS feature to send agriculture related information to crores of Indian farmers. To mark the International Women’s Day in a unique and creative manner, PM Modi in March had announced that he would be “giving away” his social media accounts to inspiring women. "This Women's Day (March 8), I will give away my social media accounts to women whose life and work inspire us. This will help them ignite motivation in millions," he had tweeted.Modi Government's Vision Of Digital India Since 2014 Modi and his cabinet has been keen on digitizing India since the Day 1 of taking office in May 2014. For the same, he launched Digital India initiative, an all-encompassing programme, to invigorate the working of the government with latest technology and provide solutions to people’s problems through the power of technology. For the ease of connecting with the common people and to let them be a key part of governance and policy making, Modi in his first term of leadership had launched apps such as ‘Narendra Modi' app and 'MyGov' web portal which lets the user read the latest news, updates and also connect with the Prime Minister. Not just in terms of apps and website, PM Modi has been making efforts in holding wide deliberations on technological cooperation whenever he travels overseas.
