Centre Issues Haj Guidelines 2024, Launches Haj Suvidha App To Provide Important Services To Pilgrims

Union Minister Smriti Irani noted a significant increase in the number of individual women Haj pilgrims, rising from 4,300 last year to 5,160 this year.

New Delhi: Minority Affairs Minister Smriti Irani on Sunday unveiled the Haj Guide 2024 and launched the Haj Suvidha Mobile Application. Addressing the gathering, she underscored the coordinated efforts of various Ministries in the NDA government to ensure a smooth and convenient Haj pilgrimage experience for all.

During the release of the Haj Guide 2024 and the launch of the Haj Suvidha Mobile application in Delhi, Smriti Irani, said, "Facilities for the Hajis is not just the responsibility of the Ministry of Minority Affairs. Now, PM Modi's government has created coordination between all departments to improve the facilities of the Hajis... Last year, no. of individual women Hajis was 4,300 which has crossed 5160 this year", as quoted by news agency ANI.

Haj Suvidha App To Provide Direct Access To Important Services

The Ministry of Minority Affairs issued a statement informing that the Haj Suvidha App app, developed under the guidance of Union Minister Smriti Irani, leverages digital and mobile technologies to provide necessary information and direct access to important services for pilgrims, including training modules, flight details, accommodation, emergency helpline, and health services.

Moreover, the Haj Guide-2024 has been prepared to make pilgrims aware of various aspects of the pilgrimage, with special emphasis on utilizing the Haj Suvidha App. The guide, published in 10 languages, will be issued to all Haj pilgrims, according to the release.

The statement also mentioned the increase in the number of trainers per pilgrim from the earlier ratio of 1:300 to a ratio of 1:150, aimed at improving the training and ensuring a fulfilling Haj experience for Indian pilgrims.

In her address, Union Minister Smriti Irani commended the government's efforts to make the Haj pilgrimage transparent, uniform, cost-efficient, safe, and spiritually fulfilling. She emphasised the importance of training and urged trainers to ensure that every Haj pilgrim can perform the pilgrimage in a safe, peaceful, and comfortable manner.

Notably, Hajj stands as a remarkable symbol of unity, bringing together Muslims from varied backgrounds, cultures, and nations in the sacred precincts of Makkah to partake in the rituals collectively.
