Meet Gaurav Rai, Bihar's Covid Warrior Who Started 'Mobile Oxygen Bank' To Help Patients With Free Cylinders
Gaurav Rai, a good samaritan from Patna in Bihar has started providing free oxygen cylinders to the coronavirus patients in the city after recovering from the infection.
The Covid 19 changed everybody's life upside down and the most affected were those who got infected with the virus. Some people lost their family members due to the coronavirus and some are still battling the deadly virus. While the country is preparing itself to get a vaccine, some Covid warriors are helping society to recover from the virus. On such Covid HERO is Gaurav Rai from Bihar who started Free Mobile Oxygen Bank' to provide free oxygen cylinders to patients.
Who is Gaurav Rai?
Gaurav Rai hails from Bihar and works in a software company as a general manager. In the first week of July, Gaurav Rai started suffering from diarrhea and felt like he has been infected by the virus. As a responsible citizen, he isolated himself from his family and on July 14 he started facing difficulty in breathing. Gaurav Rai somehow managed to drive his car and reach PMCH hospital to get himself tested. After reaching the hospital his oxygen level decreased to 54 and his wife faced a lot of trouble arranging oxygen for him. As his life depended on the cylinders, he realised the importance of the availability of timely oxygen support to survive and it was then, he decided to dedicate his efforts and finances to help others who needed the same. After struggling in the hospital, Covid warrior vowed to his wife Aruna that once he becomes healthy he will start distributing free oxygen cylinders to Covid 19 patients.Meet Gaurav Rai, a COVID-19 survivor who started a 'Free Mobile Oxygen Bank' to provide free oxygen cylinders to patients. Gaurav Rai started the Oxygen bank with 3 cylinders
After recovering from the virus, Gaurav Rai started working as a warrior to help those who needed him. With the help of his wife, he arranged 3 oxygen cylinders and started his 'Free Mobile Oxygen Bank'. People lauded his efforts and with the help of locals, Gaurav Rai arranged 41 oxygen cylinders and started helping the Covid 19 patients. Appreciating his efforts, Bihar Foundation provided him with 200 oxygen cylinders. Gaurav has helped 812 people with the oxygen cylinders of which 12 people passed away, 79 people are still on oxygen, 109 people have completely recovered. Gaurav works as a one-man army and his bank is helping patients in 18 districts of Bihar. Gaurav has also provided oximeters to 300 people. The Patna man travels with oxygen cylinders in his car across the city and is also available on call for help. After from Bihar Foundation's help, his vehicle is generally equipped with 30 cylinders bought from the couple's hard-earned money to assist the needy patients under home isolation.
