Manohar Parrikar discharged from AIIMS; likely to return to Goa

Parrikar was rushed to ICU for a while after his health deteriorated in the morning.

New Delhi: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has been discharged from hospital on Sunday from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), after being rushed to ICU for a while in the morning, news agency PTI reported citing sources. As per reports Parrikar was suffering from pancreatic ailment and he had been undergoing treatment for quite some time at the AIIMS. Sources revealed that he was shifted to ICU on Sunday morning for a while after his condition deteriorated, later on the administration decided to discharge him. As per sources all the medical facilities are being organised at Parrikar’s private residence where he is expected to stay upon reaching Goa. The 62-year-old BJP leader was admitted to Delhi's premier hospital on September 15. A Goa CMO official was quoted on Saturday by the agency as saying: "The chief minister is likely to be brought to Goa in a special flight on Sunday from Delhi. The doctors who are treating him at the hospital would certify on Sunday morning whether he is fit to travel back home.” He also informed that Parrikar will be staying at his private residence in Panaji upon returning. Parrikar has been ailing since mid-February and has been treated at different hospitals including those in Goa, Mumbai and the US. (With inputs from PTI)
