PM Modi Pays Tribute To Predecessor Manmohan Singh At His Residence: Video
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his last respects to former PM Manmohan Singh at Singh's residence in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached his predecessor Manmohan Singh's residence at 3, Motilal Nehru Marg in New Delhi to pay last respects to the departed soul.
Manmohan Singh, a veteran economist and former finance minister passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday night.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister JP Nadda also reached Singh's residence and paid their last respects to the former Prime Minister.
Following Singh's demise, the Central government declared a seven-day mourning suspending all official entertainments. The National Flag also flew at half-mast on government buildings in honour of the departed soul.

The last rites which are likely to take place tomorrow will be held with full state honours, the Centre said.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Modi shared photos of himself with his predecessor as he joined the nation in paying tributes to Singh, who is known for ushering in economic development and saving the country from bankruptcy.

"India mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished leaders, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Rising from humble origins, he rose to become a respected economist," Modi said in a post on X. "He served in various government positions as well, including as Finance Minister, leaving a strong imprint on our economic policy over the years. His interventions in Parliament were also insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve people’s lives," he added.
He recalled his interaction with Manmohan Singh during the time when Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. "We would have extensive deliberations on various subjects relating to governance. His wisdom and humility were always visible," Modi noted.
