Man kills son on Father's Day

NAGPUR:  An elderly man allegedly killed his 28-year-old son on Father's Day over a property dispute, police said today. Pralhad Shende (55) axed his son Pintu to death in the wee hours on Sunday after a heated argument at Manjri, about 17 kms from here at Weltur in Nagpur rural, police said in a release. Pralhad and Pintu used to fight over sharing their farmland. Pintu had allegedly beaten his father earlier and threatened to kill him over the issue, Nagpur rural police said. They had a heated argument again on Saturday late night and later Pralhad allegedly attacked his son with an axe, killing him on the spot. Pintu's mother found the body in a pool of blood and informed police. Subsequently, Pralhad was arrested yesterday and an offence of murder was registered against him under section 302 of IPC, police added.
