Maharashtra Turmoil: Left CM Building Not The Fight, Says CM Uddav In Address To Sena Workers
Uddhav Thackeray, talking about the upheaval, said that these things keep happening. The workers should focus on strengthening the organisation.
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing political instability in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray made an emotional speech as he addressed the Shiv Sena’s district chiefs and taluka heads on Friday. He said that although he has left Varsha bungalow, the official residence of the chief minister, he has not given up the fight. In his address, he reiterated that he is ready to step down if the Shiv Sainiks want him to do so.
This is Uddhav’s second public address since the political crisis began earlier this week, Before this, he made another address where he had said that he would readily step down if his party workers deemed him incapable of the post. He also left the official CM residence in Varsha and moved to his family residence in Matoshree with his family.
According to Shiv Sena leaders who attended the meeting, Uddhav Thackeray, talking about the upheaval, said that these things keep happening. The workers should focus on strengthening the organisation.
Using the metaphor of a tree, he said that a tree sheds its leaves and the new leaves take the place of the old ones. However, the roots of the tree remain strong. Without taking any name, Uddhav said he won’t hold back those who have gone.
Addressing the party workers, he urged the Tehsil chiefs, district heads and others to get in touch with the people in their respective areas and work to strengthen the organisation.
Shiv Sena leader Sachin Ahir said, “Today we had a party meeting with district leaders. After CM Uddhav Thackeray's speech, party leaders got energy. MLAs may not be here but the party is intact. Party's full base is there and with this spirit, we will fight.”
Meanwhile, the rebel camp led by senior leader Eknath Shinde has gained strength with one more party MLA Dilip Lande joining the group. The loss of Lande is being considered a major blow as he represents the Chandivali Assembly constituency in Mumbai.
