he former mayor of Thane said in a letter to Sena head Uddhav Thackeray that Shivsainiks felt (politically) "suffocated" as a result of "Rashtravadi" (NCP) during the last two and a half years.

New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing political stir in Maharashtra continues to peak with Naresh Mhaske, an ally of Eknath Shinde, resigning from his position as Thane district president of the Shiv Sena on Saturday in protest at the "attitude" of MVA constituent NCP. However, he made it clear that he will always be a Shivsainik.

The former mayor of Thane said in a letter to Sena head Uddhav Thackeray that Shivsainiks felt (politically) "suffocated" as a result of "Rashtravadi" (NCP) during the last two and a half years.

“I am resigning as the Thane district president of Shiv Sena but will continue to remain a shivsainik forever,” he said in a letter.

Here's Top Development So Far

  1. "We're ready to fight again if you've to power to fight without Shiv Sena. We won't let traitors win at any cost now...after this incident, WB CM Mamata Banerjee & Cong Pres Sonia Gandhi called CM (Uddhav Thackeray)," Maharashtra Minister & Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray said.
  2. As a mediator between the state head and the rebel group, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's assistant Ravindra Phatak was flown to Surat. However, in an unexpected change of events, Phatak switched sides and joined the Shinde-led force.
  3. The BJP leader and chief minister of Assam stated to the media on Thursday that he is unsure of the presence of Maharashtra MLAs in his state. Assam boasts a number of high-quality hotels, and "anyone may come there and stay," he continued. At the five-star Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati, the MLAs who moved from the Sena to Shinde have set up camp.
  4. Congress has sided with Shiv Sena amid this political unrest, and senior politician Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday criticised the BJP and the federal government for "destabilising a stable" system in Maharashtra. He also compared the upcoming presidential elections to the state's present political instability.
  5. On Thursday, MLA Nitin Deshmukh said that Shinde's group kidnapped him and transported him to Surat. He asked Shinde for permission to go back to Mumbai after learning that "there was a plan against our administration." Deshmukh's assertions were disproved by the rebels by the publication of two images showing him posing for a selfie and sitting in a chartered jet with other MLAs, respectively.
  6. In response to the uprising, Mumbai police send more officers to the headquarters of political parties. As an additional security measure, police have been stationed at the homes and offices of the chief minister, ministers, MLAs, and MPs.
  7. Earlier hotel reservations in Guwahati, which were valid through June 28th, have apparently been extended for a further two days, according to media outlets.
  8. Shinde and other rebel leaders would be dismissed from their cabinet positions within 24 hours, according to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.
  9. Did Fadnavis and Shinde meet in Gujarat? Sources claimed that Eknath Shinde had gone to Gujarat on Friday night. On the other hand, according to sources close to Devendra Fadnavis, he went from Mumbai to Indore on Friday and left for Gujarat after staying there for some time. Shiv Sena rebel Deepak Kesarkar informed ABP News that he is not aware whether Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis met on Friday night or not. However, BJP sources have said that Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde did not meet.
