Anil Deshmukh said that tweets of celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Suniel Shetty, Virat Kohli, Akshay Kumar, and others will be investigated by the Maharashtra Intelligence agency that whether it was done under some pressure by the Modi government or the celebrities just wanted to support the centre on the controversial Farm Laws.
In the latest controversy of Indian celebrities coming out in support of the Modi government regarding the Farm Laws after international Popstar, Rihanna tweeted asking, 'Why are we not talking about the farmers' protest, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has given a huge statement.
Anil Deshmukh said that tweets of celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Suniel Shetty, Virat Kohli, Akshay Kumar, and others will be investigated that whether it was done under some pressure by the Modi government or the celebrities just wanted to support the centre on the controversial Farm Laws.
According to Anil Deshmukh, there are many similarities in their tweets which suggest that it was a planned movement, hence their tweets will be investigated by the state intelligence agency to find out if it was done under any pressure. The points raised by Maharashtra Home Minister Deshmukh are:
1. The tweets by Virat Kohli and Lata Mangeshkar share the common word 'Amicable' and so it hints it was framed and was not just a reaction.
2. Actor Suniel Shetty even tagged BJP leader Hitesh Jain in his tweet which raises suspicion
3. Akshay Kumar and Saina Nehwal's tweet supporting the Modi government are exactly the same.
4. Hashtags used by all the celebrities are same which says #IndiaAgainstPropaganda
5. The timing and pattern of the tweets by celebrities suggest that it was done under the pressure of the Modi government.
Maharashtra Congress spokesperson and the complainant Sachin Sawant said," Stars like Sachin Tendulkar or Lata Mangeshkar never even expressed grief on anybody's death but suddenly started tweeting in support of the government. So we have registered a complaint against it and State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has ordered a probe. We are not questioning anybody's freedom of expression but the pattern of tweets suggests that the Modi government even pressurized these Bharat Ratnas."
In response to Maharashtra HM's decision, BJP leader Ram Kadam slammed the Congress party saying that Congress has become a spokesperson for those who defame our country and investigating Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeskar's tweet is shameful. So, BJP demands an apology and withdrawal of the order.
