Maharashtra Curfew Guidelines: Full List Of What's Open & What's Not From Wednesday

Several restrictions and SOPs were announced by the Chief Minister who also said that the imposed curb is for the betterment of the state and is not a complete lockdown.

Mumbai: In the wake of significantly rising Coronavirus cases, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thaceray on Tuesday imposed Section 144 across the state from tomorrow announcing more strict restrictions. Section 144 to be imposed in the entire state from tomorrow 8 pm for the next 15 days.

Several restrictions and SOPs were announced by the Chief Minister who also said that the imposed curb is for the betterment of the state and is not a complete lockdown. Emergency services will remain open between 7 am and 8 pm daily during this period.

Here's a list of what's open and what's not in Maharashtra:

What's Open

Local train and bus services for essential services only, petrol pumps, financial institutions associated with SEBI, construction work, take-aways and, home deliveries.

Apart from this hospitals, insurance, medical stores, medicine dealers, vaccine manufacturers, transporters, mask manufacturers, animal husbandry-related, vet clinics, autos, consulates, pre-monsoon work, SEBI, telephone services, e-commerce services, media, IT services.

What's Closed

Hotels and restaurants will remain closed. All establishments, public places will remain closed except for essential services. Additionally, no standing and eating at street-side food stalls from tomorrow. All cinema halls in the state will remain closed.

No one to move in public place without valid reasons.

It is to be noted that Section 144 (prohibitory orders) of the Criminal Procedure Code will be in force till the "lockdown-like" restrictions are in place. 

While making the announcements, Thackeray also said that state government will provide three kg wheat and two kg rice free for the next one month to every poor and needy person while the coronavirus-induced restrictions are in place. 

There is a shortage of medical oxygen and beds and the demand for Remdesivir has increased in Maharashtra, Thackeray said urging Centre to supply oxygen for coronavirus patients in the state by using Air Force planes.
