Maharashtra Crisis: BJP MLAs To Meet At Fadnavis Residence Today To Discuss Floor Test
Fadnavis requested Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to direct the beleaguered Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to prove its majority in the Assembly
Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs will meet Devendra Fadnavis at his residence Today to discuss party strategy ahead of the Uddhav Thackeray's Maha Vikas Agadi Alliance floor test on Thursday, June 30. The meeting to be held in the afternoon will be chaired by Fadnavis and Chandrakant Dada Patil where leaders will dicuss the plan for the upcoming assembly session where the floor test will decide the fate of the Maharashtra government, ABP News reported citing source. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has written to assembly secretary Rajendra Bhagwat calling for a special session at 11 am for Maha Vikas Agadi to prove majority.
On Tuesday, Fadnavis accompanied by BJP leaders met Koshyari at Raj Bhavan urging him to direct the beleaguered Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to prove its majority in the Assembly. "We have given a letter to the Governor, in which we have informed him that Shiv Sena's 39 MLAs are saying that they are not with the Sena and they do not want to support the Maha Vikas Aghadi government," Fadnavis told reporters after meeting the governor.
Fadnavis had also interacted with Union home minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda. It is understood that the former CM apprised the two leaders of the political developments in Maharashtra and discussed various aspects related to the party's future strategy in the state.
The leaders are believed to have discussed the options and legal aspects of government formation with Shah along with rebel Shiv Sena MLAs and some independents.
The Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra is facing a crisis as several of its MLAs, led by Eknath Shinde, have rebelled and are currently camping in Guwahati.
