Lucknow murder case: CM Yogi clarifies 'It wasn't an encounter'; Says 'Will get matter probed by CBI if required'
Lucknow murder: The grieving family is asking CM Yogi to visit them before the family performs the deceased's last rites
Uttar Paradesh: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday took cognizance of the murder of young Lucknow based Apple employee Vivek Tiwari by an on-duty Police constable and assured all necessary action against the accused.
Speaking on the incident, CM said “This wasn’t an encounter and we will take all necessary steps to ensure justice prevails”. He further added saying that “the two accused police officers have been arrested and if needed we will get the case probed by CBI”.
Vivek Tiwari shot in head:
Deceased Vivek was returning back with his colleague Sana when the incident took place. As per the police, Vivek was asked to stop by the policemen, but he didn’t stop and instead hit the police vehicle. This prompted the officials to shoot him in self defence.
Accused Constable says ‘not guilty’:
The accused police constable, who claimed to have suffered some minor knee injuries, said that Vivek reversed his car thrice and attempted to run over the police’s bike; which made them fire a bullet in self-defense.
Vivek’s wife says ‘Yogi must visit us’:
Deceased wife, who is now left to fend for her herself and her two little daughter is demanding that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should visit her family and that her husband’s last rites shall be performed post CM visit only.
