Lucknow Apple Executive Shot Dead: Wife Writes To CM Yogi Demanding CBI Probe, Rs 1 Crore As Compensation
Earlier, speaking exclusively to ABP News, Vivek's wife said "Which law gave Uttar Pradesh police a right to shoot him". "The cops are framing him saying he was in an inappropriate position when he was shot, but if he was wrong the cops should have arrested him from his residence" she said.
NEW DELHI: After Vivek Tiwari, a 38-year-old employee of Apple died was shot at by a police constable in Lucknow, his wife Kalpana Tiwari on Saturday wrote a letter to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath asking him to get her justice.
In her letter, Kalpana Tiwari demanded a CBI investigation in the case, a government job in the police department and one crore as compensation. The family of the deceased is now refusing to perform his last rites and threatening to go on a hunger strike till CM Yogi visits their house.
The incident took place near Gomti Nagar extension at around 1.30 a.m. when Tiwari was heading home after the launch of iPhone X plus along with Sana Khan, his colleague.
The accused Prashant Chaudhary who was admitted in a hospital said he fired at Tiwari in self-defence as the latter was about to run over him from his vehicle for the third time when asked to stop. There’s discrepancy in Chaudhary’s statement as Tiwari was reportedly shot from a close range.
Refuting police’s version of Tiwari’s car ramming the policemen’s bike, Sana, in a telephonic conversation, claimed, “There was no accident. The cops came towards the car after parking their motorcycle and shot at Sir (Vivek Tiwari.). I could not understand anything as it happened so quickly."
Sana said she is not under any pressure but has sought time to speak to reporters to narrate the sequence of events in detail.
Uttar Pradesh ADG Anand Kumar while speaking to ABP News had said, "This incident has embarrassed us and should not have taken place. This seemed like murder. We have filed a case against the accused police officer and are considering this as a first degree murder. The police officers had no threat from the deceased".
