Amid Nepal’s tensions with India over its new controversial map, Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday made a controversial remark over Lord Ram. Oli reportedly claimed that the real Ayodhya is in Nepali and not in India. Lord Ram is Nepali, not Indian." Yesterday, PM Oli had surprised Indians when despite ongoing scuffle, he tweeted for Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and his family, wishing them all a speedy recovery after they tested positive for Coronavirus. His statement has come at the time when India and Nepal are indulged in sour ties after over Nepal's new map. The tensions between the two Asian neighbours started brewing after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a 80-km-long strategically crucial road connecting the Lipulekh pass with Dharchula in Uttarakhand on May 8. Nepal had opposed India’s move claiming that the road lies completely within its territory. Later the Nepalese legislation passed a new political map through a constitutional amendment, incorporating the three strategically important Indian areas. Nepal’s move has been sternly criticized by India and its claims have been termed untenable. Reacting on the development, actor Manisha Koirala, a Nepali national urged people of both the countries to be not "aggressive and disrespectful" towards each other.
