New Delhi: The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the schedule for the upcoming general elections 2024 in a presser and Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar's poetic recitations caught everyone's attention. While advising voters to not forward fake news and unverified information on social media, CEC Rajiv Kumar said, "Jhooth ke bazaar mei raunak toh bohot hai, goya bul bule jaisi hi turant hi phat jati hai, pakad bhi loge toh kya hasil hoga sivaye dokhe ke. (In the market of lies, there is much splendor, as if it were a bubble that bursts immediately, and if you try to catch it, what will you gain except deceit.)"

Advising political parties to not cross the "red line" of criticism while attacking each other during the election campaigning, CEC Rajiv Kumar in an impromptu poetic way continued with, "dushmani jam kar karo lekin ye gunjaish rahe, jab kabhi ham dost ho jaaen to sharminda na hon." (Stop the enmity, but let it resonate, whenever we become friends, don't be ashamed.)
CEC also quoted the poet, Abdul Rahim Khan, and said, Rahiman Dhaga Prema ka mat todo chitkaay, Toote se phir na mile, mile gaanth pad jaaye." (Rahiman, don't break the thread of love, it is broken, if it is broken, it will never meet again, it will get tied up.)
CEC Alluded To Cash Flow In Polls
